Why Home Physiotherapy,?
Convenient and Time Saving
Long waiting List, and delays in appointments. We work around your schedule, with rest and recovery after treatment at the comfort of your own home.
Personalised Care
By providing bestTherapy in your familiar home environment, we can develop a holistic plan to suit your recovery needs.
High-Risk Individuals
The home environment prevents exposure to external sources of infection and supports monitoring of one’s progress and condition.
For home-based physiotherapy sessions, we kindly request the following guidelines to optimize your care and ensure a productive experience:
Space and Setup
Prepare a quiet, clean area with enough room for exercises and movements. Remove any obstacles, such as furniture or rugs, that could pose a tripping hazard. If specific equipment is needed, ensure it is easily accessible or inform the physiotherapist in advance.
Comfort
The environment should have good ventilation, comfortable lighting, and appropriate temperature settings for ease of movement.
Minimizing Distractions
Family members or housemates should be informed about the session to minimize interruptions.
Pets should ideally be kept in another area to avoid any disruption or accidents.
Personal Preparation
Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement.
Have any medical documentation or equipment (e.g., braces, splints) handy that might be relevant to the session.
Safety Considerations
Ensure that the area where therapy will take place is free from potential hazards such as sharp corners, wet floors, or loose cables.
If you require assistance during movements or exercises, having a family member nearby may be helpful, but not required.
Timeliness
Be ready at the scheduled appointment time so the full session can be dedicated to your treatment.
This approach ensures the effectiveness of the therapy and maximizes your recovery progress in the comfort of your own home.
Our physiotherapists first start with an assessment, including a comprehensive movement analysis and goal-setting. Thereafter, we will chart the treatment plan with the patient and their loved ones.
At First Step Therapy centre, our Chartered physiotherapists can visit you at your home, providing safe and convenient home Physiotherapy for patients with difficulty leaving the home.
